    The project in detail

Institut Florimont is a public school established in Geneva in 1905, offering education “from kindergarten to university entrance”. Its mission is to help each student reach their full potential, in a setting that is both demanding and caring.

The Institut Florimont has placed its trust in Meanquest since 2014 to support it in various IT projects. Florimont was keen not to let any threats slip through its net, and wanted to strengthen its entire infrastructure and security solutions.

Meanquest’s teams contributed their expertise in security, as well as in managing the existing infrastructure.

Deployment of Sophos endpoint and antivirus solutions & security audits

The Institut Florimont has chosen Meanquest & Sophos solutions to strengthen the security of its information system.
To deal with the growing threats, the Institute needed a modern anti-virus solution capable of providing permanent protection for its servers and endpoints. The Geneva-based school chose Sophos to install firewalls and antivirus solutions in 2022.

For Jean-Marc Robyr, IT Manager / Data Protection Officer (DPO), “[…] the support offered by the Meanquest teams was decisive. I have confidence in their ability to configure the Sophos solution thanks to their excellent product knowledge. This guarantees optimised use of the solutions in place, as well as good management and administration of the Sophos Central console”.

A complete audit of the security solutions in place was also carried out, with a number of objectives:

    • Analyse the firewall rules, with regard to the needs of exchanges with the outside world, as defined by the Institut Florimont
    • Identify whether the “good practices” dictated by Sophos are being respected
    • Check the general configuration of the XG firewall and Sophos Central and confirm that all servers (Windows and Linux) are covered by a security solution
    • Suggest remedial solutions to any shortcomings detected

    Information system audit

In order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of its information system, the Institut Florimont called on Meanquest to carry out a complete audit of its virtual infrastructure and licences. The aim was to carry out a review of the architectures and technologies in place, and then make recommendations based on the Institute’s strategic objectives.

Two Meanquest engineers were deployed for 4 days to carry out this audit.

For Sandra Joyeau, Account Manager at Meanquest, “[…] this audit provided a consolidated view of the systems in place and enabled us to propose a coherent, global action plan to align the systems with Florimont’s strategy”.

In the end, this audit enabled us to put in place specific actions to make Florimont’s environment as safe as possible, and to incorporate best practice.

“Meanquest has positioned itself as a strategic partner that combines technical expertise, support and education. By calling on Meanquest, we have obtained end-to-end consistency in the security of our infrastructures.”
